February is the Hamburger Ride to Pittsburgh Landing.  Always a fun time.

March 31 – Banquet dinner at Hoots Cafe

April – May – Big Canyon  / Kirkwood Cleanup Rides

May – Memorial Weekend Steak Ride – Giant ATV Roundup and Steak BBQ
Members are asked to RSVP by May 1st.  More details to come.

June – Clark Mountain (east of Pierce, ID near the North Fork Clearwater River)

Please join us at “Gary Dales Memorial ” House painting on Saturday.

..As you know we lost Gary last month due to an ATV accident.

Before passing, Gary had asked his best friend Dick if he would help paint his house this fall and Dick assured him he would. Well Gary is gone and we need some help painting the house for Garys wife Joyce.

Dick has been prepping the house for painting the last couple of weeks.

When: Please join us on Saturday September 17 @ 8:00 am.

Where: 410 2nd. Street (heading into Cottonwood take left at Buds and it is the second street on the right/2nd house) .

Although we will supply paint supplies,  please bring your favorite brush/roller.

A Gary Dale Memorial Fund has been set up at ANY Wells Fargo Bank if you would like to donate a few dollars.

Thanks to Idaho Pathfinders for their $500.00 contribution and to the other donors as well.

Due to this crazy year and the weather, The ATV Fun Run ride on the Centennial Trail #88 has been cancelled.  We are working with the Forest Service with the permit to have it moved to a later date either End of July or First of Aug.  (The time, place and date will be posted as soon as we can)

Between the snow on the trail, muddy ruts that cut into the trail, and high water are all playing a factor in the discussion. And then we have the fish spawning to work in there as well. Several things are being weighed in on.

So if you have any question on the ride or trails around the area. Please give a call to 839-2303 and we will try and answer them.

The BBQ Steak Ride is this Sunday, April 30, 2011 in the area of Doumecq. This is a members only ride and the cost is $12.00 per person.

Besides the ride on private property, the steaks are a highlight. USDA Choice 1″ Boneless New York Strips from Askers. If you love a good quality beef cut, get your taste buds ready.

We are asking all members to bring a dish to share and also bring your own Drinks. Plates and plastic utensils are supplied.

The parking and Steak BBQ will be in The Doumecq Rockpit (the surrounding area has alot of moisture and the ground is soft, so the rockpit will give us solid dry ground to enjoy the BBQ).

There will be signs posted from White Bird and Cottonwood on how to get there. Center Canyon Road is the north south road that connects Doumecq from White Bird and Graves Creek Road in Cottonwood. So either way you go, look for the ATV signs for guidance.

Sign in is @ 9:00am with the ride leaving @ 10:00. We are asking every one to stay together during the ride. We’ll be on private ground and we don’t want to lose anyone.

Do to insurance reseons. Everyone will have to sign in. (Grandparents who are bringing their Grandchildren — If the parent is not attending or present, you must bring a document signed by the parents giving you permission to take the child on the ride. Sorry!)

Hey, Mary Mangold here.  Bob and I are planning to go tomorrow (Sunday, March 20th) for the Pittsburgh Landing Burger ride.  We’ll be meeting across the Salmon River from White Bird, turn left on the other side of the bridge, to park, unload the ATV’s, sign in and head over the ridge into Hells CAnyon.  Bobby and I will be flipping burgers.

Members bring a side dish if you can.  I’m bring pumpkin spice muffins.

We haven’t heard anything differently, but if you’re jonesing for a little camaraderie (fellowship) and sunshine, should be pleasant and highs for Grangeville showing at low 50′s on Sunday. So you know on the Snake River the weather is going to be JUST RIGHT!

Get your ATV’s loaded up and plan to get out of the house to tend to your cabin fever.  Good food, good people, good fun, good for you!

If I hear anything differently, or if the weather man didn’t predict the weather correctly, I’ll post it here without fail. So if you’re wondering, and you don’t see any change from this message, please plan on joining us.  Bobby said he can’t eat all those burgers by himself.

March 20th there was a BBQ ride scheduled to McComas Meadows. Do to so much snow in the area and that most of the trails are muddy. We have canceled the ride. We feel it is not worth digging people out or tearing up the trail system.

But since the weather should be getting better in Big Canyon (Pittsburgh Landing). We are going to reschedule the the Hamburger BBQ ride. (If pouring down rain or freezing gold it will get canceled again). This will happen MARCH 20TH. We will be signing up at the old Mill Site just out side of White Bird. (follow signs from the Highway). Sign in will be between 8:30-9:00am. We will be leaving the Mill Site by 9:00am. And the BBQ will be @ Pittsburgh landing.  Cost  is members $5.00 per person and Non-members $7.00 per person. (You may join that day, or pay your dues).  Bring your own drinks!!

Do to adverse weather the BBQ ride to Pittsburgh Landing on February 27 has been canceled. Dean has been watching the news and weather reports. And the weather is suppose to get cold and snow. Either way we feel there has to be a better day to have a BBQ ride. The ride will be rescheduled at a later date. Sorry every one

I’m still looking for members to run a check station. I have Station 1, 3, 4 left to fill. Please if any one can help out,. Let me know. I also have cleanup riders spoken for as well. The station person has to come up with a skilled game. The fun run is September 19th @ MCComas Meadows.

Just a quick little reminder:

July 25 is the Carey Creek Idaho Pathfinders Members Only ride.

The ride will leave 9:00am Pacific Time. Dean suggests to unload at French Creek because that is where you will return to.  To get there you will have to turn on the the west end of Riggins, cross the Little Salmon river, past the Rodeo grounds and follow up the Main Salmon. From there it is about a 30 min drive. 

Beware there is road construction going on up there

THIS WILL BE AN ALL DAY RIDE — BRING GAS AND FOOD and plenty of liquids to hydrate!!!!

What you’ll see along the way: OLD mining camps and wonderful lakes to enjoy. Plus you’ll view the backside of the historical Florence area.
