December 2015 Newsletter

Happy Holidays everyone. Hope everyone is having safe travels this time of year.

1. We went through the 2016 year for Ride schedule.

2. Worked on the schedule for Trail Ranger Program.
All trails will be on done as a club on scheduled work days, on weekends. This way everyone that wants to help can.
We will start on Fish Creek, 9301, and Millner Trail in May. Dates will be posted the month ahead.
June will be the month for working on the remaining trails.
Something new this year We HOPE, we will be signing a contract for Big Canyon and Kirkwood. These trails will be done earlier in the year.

3. We will be talking to Bud’s Saw Shop about the Hamburger Feed in the spring .

4. BLM Travel Plan still no word out on it.

5. For 2015 the following we will be doing a donation to: Blue Ribbon Coalition Legal Fund $250, Blue Ribbon Coalition membership $250 and the Idaho State Association $50.

6. Don Eckford brought us up to speed on his travels. He was in Orofino for a day talking to the Conservation Core Engineers about things in that area. This was for all recreation travels.

7. Last but least was Election of Officers: Nomination were Don Eckford and Del Houger for either President or Vic President. It was brought up to keep the same Sec./Treasure. Voted And passed.

8. Land Exchange was a quick discussion of the out come of the two meetings. Everyone was all on the same page. Donna will send a copy of a letter the Back Country Horseman sent in. Donna said they had a member that went through and wrote up question or comments on everything that was in that packet for the night.
We encourage everyone to write to Senator James Risch. This is our back door they are trying to mess with. Places where town’s people take their family’s to hike, OHV, or just go to enjoy what the great our doors have to give. The timber needs logged, Why aren’t we doing it. Why do we need to give some one else the timber money. What is it going to look like when they are done or don’t want it any more? These are just a few question that are floating around.
Address is: Senator James E Risch 350 North 9th Street, Suite 302 Boise ID 83702

9. Next Meeting will be January 6th 2016. Our nominated members will take over at that time. Unless we have some other member that would like to get into the running. Would love to see new faces.

Thank you to everyone that helped out this year. And have a Safe and Happy Holidays.
