February 2016 Newsletter

Happy Valentines Day everyone. February’s Meeting was called to order at the White Bird Area Recreation Building in White Bird 7:00pm February 3rd. There was 18 members accounted for.
1. Old business: Nothing on the Land Exchange to update.
Nothing on the Travel Plane
Trail Ranger Program from last year, the hats and cards will be given out
during the February 21st Hamburger Feed down at Pittsburg Landing.
Bud’s Power Sports Open house (cooking for us) is still waiting for the date

March 13 is the Wilson/Saint Patrick’s day Breakfast in White Bird. We are scheduling our Big Canyon Cleanup ride for that day. Those that would like to help out with the crew that is going to work on the trail will be leaving the old Mill site @ 9:00. Some of us will be eating breakfast at the IOOF. It’s good and it’s green pancakes.

Hamburger Ride to Pittsburg is still set for Feb. 21. We will be cooking between 11:00-1:00pm. (We will have 150 hamburgers on hand). The club will bring Hot dogs, Hamburgers & buns, ketchup, mayo, and mustered. We are asking members to bring a dish to share. And like always Bring your own drink. Cost is $5.00 per person. Ride or drive over. Those that want to ride you can unload at the Old Mill Site. Leave when you want and go up Big Canyon if you want. We will be doing a 50/50 drawing as well. And will have membership forms on hand.
2. New Business: Sam Martin with Natural Resource Team from Dworshak came down to talk to us about some of OHV travels that they have in the works. Sam started the trail program in 2011. And says that there is about 150 thousand visitors in that area a year. This could be OHV, hikers, bikers, fisherman, and just recreation families in general. He was down to show what he has planned and to see if in the feature if need could he call on us for a letter of recommendation for the projects. He will be trying to add 12.2 miles of OHV trails and 11.9 miles of Non-motorized.

Up date on the spraying for Big Canyon and Kirkwood. We will be going back into there at a latter date with Cathy Conover to the spraying. She will get the spray and help us out those days.

3. Next meeting will be back at Hoot’s Café 7;00pm March 2nd.
