Idaho Pathfinders Newsletter for January 2015

Happy New Year everyone!!. January’s meeting was called to order January 7th, 2015 @ Hoot’s café 7:05. There was 16 members ready to help out for 2015.

1. Was the Boulder White Cloud information: There is a lot of thing on the plate right now. It has been defeated twice in congress about turning it into wilderness. But then there is talk about making it a monument ground. So the IRC is talking to the congress about other options. To try and keep it motorize. We will be trying to keep everyone posted as best as we can.

2. Brought to the attention after the fact about an underpayment on a trail. One of the contractors made a mistake when billing on a trail. They should have put down for 13 hours in stead of 1 hour. So the difference was $660. We voted and passed to pay it. Because this contractor does a wonderful job for us at a drop of a hat. He is well worth to keep happy. Things happen. If in 16 years working with this group, this is the only mistake that happens. Yah to us.

3. For this years contributions to the following were voted and passed:
Blue Ribbon Coalition $250
Blue Ribbon Coalition Law $250
Idaho State ATV Association $50

4. Idaho Recreation Council Member (Randy F.) that brings us the information from meetings in Boise. We are willing to pay 1/2 of the expenses for that meeting (motel).

5. Forest Service: We invited for January’s meeting: Jeremy H., Noal Payne, Rick Brazil or his replacement. But none of them answered back. But on Monday following the meeting we got an answer from Jeremy Harris about setting up a meeting soon with Rick’s replacement (Cheryl Probert New Forest Supervisor). Jeremy is still looking for a replacement for Josh. ( He is a hard one to replace in our eyes)

6. Don Eckford will be looking into the logging that is going on around the Centennial trail. He will be talking to Jeff Shin about it. Don is thinking that it has done some damage to the trail.

7. The new shirts are in. Colors are Dark blue, black and gray. They have the logo on the back with a saying on the front by the pocket. Sorry to say but the price has gone up. $20 for s-xl, $24 for xxl and $ 26 xxxl. The sweat shirts that people wanted are in $24. Zip up Sweatshirts $38. All orders for shirts are ran through the club. We don’t give out the logo so you can print your own. We only make a couple dollars off these items. This helps pay for the tax’s and set up fee. Sorry everyone.

8. All dues that are paid by end of Feb. will receive the yellow card showing the year that you are member and an IPA sticker. Some of the Recreation places will recognize the yellow card and give discounts for being a member to an ATV club.

Next meeting will be February 4th @ Hoot’s Café 7:00pm. Next meeting we will be talking about the BBQ ride to Pittsburg Landing. Do we want to play games and what should we all serve.
Don’t forget the Steak BBQ ride this year in May!! RSVP if you know you are coming.
