Idaho County Recreational and Grazing Land Lost?

Please join the concerned citizens of Idaho County at a Town Hall Meeting scheduled Wednesday October 5, 2011 at 6pm at the Senior Citizens Center on Truck Route in Grangeville. This meeting is designed to provide basic facts that relate to the impact of the Idaho County Commissioners alternative proposal that was presented to the US Forest Service in lieu of the Lochsa Land Exchange.

Should this swap become a reality, many valuable acres of public land that allow for multi use recreation, firewood gathering and grazing allotments will cease to exist because Western Pacific Timber will own the land instead of the Federal Government.

If you care about the recreational lands that provide ample enjoyment on your ATV’s as well as other important resources and activities, please try to join us at the meeting Wednesday night.

6pm – Senior Citizens Center – Truck Route – Grangeville Idaho

Also, you can learn more about this issue and download maps of the 40,000+ acres of public lands that would convert to private land (to be strip logged and then subdivided to be sold to private investors) and lots of information at the website http://stoptheswap.net
