May’s Newsletter 2015

May’s meeting was brought to order May 6th 2015, 7:00pm. 19 members present at the meeting.

1. Steak ride is May 17th. You had to be signed up by May 1st in order to get your name in for the steak. We also had to turn the same number in for the permit that was signed. We will be bring an extra cooler for those that need to keep there share item cold. Remember members to bring a dish to share. Leaving Kruze Meadows at 9:00am back by 4:00 for steaks.

We have gotten word back on the permit. And they will be policing the area. So everyone remember to have your stickers, kids under 18 need to remember to wear a helmet, pack it in- pack it out, follow guidelines for an ATV, on they are watching the open container while riding.

2. The Forest Service is having there collaboration meeting in Grangeville May 30th on the travel plan. Bob Heifer and Del Houger are working on it.

3. ATV training course date has been set May 20th in Grangeville 6:30. People need to call 208-839-2303 to get their name on the list and get their books to study.

4. Bob Hafer is working on the Fish and Game about Eagle Creek and the lock gates. We will be starting to dig up information on it. This way we can see why it is locked, if there is a way to get it open, or just what as the public land user has the rights to.

5. Trail work for 2015: The Kirkwood and Big Canyon have been worked on. Now it will be time to start the TRAIL RANGER PROGRAM trail work. We have the trail bosses set, First aid course done and most of the bosses have saw class done. As soon as the trails are ready we will be starting to clear. When the trail bosses know they are working on a trail. They will let us know, so we can go and help. The Centennial Trail work day will be set at the next meeting.

6. Jeremy Harris has sent a note to us about the 313 trail there will be work on it for us to do. Some rock work and drainage. Also we will be working with Noal Payne as the trail crew boss from the Forest Service.

7. There is a new organization starting in the White Bird Area. Call the White Bird Recreation. Since White Bird was nice to us when we started giving some money to us for stamps, Post office box and such. We voted and past to help them out. The club donated $200 to them. White Bird Recreation District will be taking over the Old White Bird School. They will have it available to use for function or meeting for people in the area.

8. Next meeting is June 3rd, Hoot’s Café 7:00pm.
