On June 6, is National Trails Day. Hope everyone can get out and ride.
Just a reminder, they are working on the 221 road. So, the Milner trail will have a lot of traffic on it. So, at this time, we are canceling the BBQ ride at Fish Creek on the Milner trail. Instead, we moved the BBQ ride to McComas Meadows.
The forest service will be looking at the 385 and 386 with the trail cat. Those days have not been decided yet.
We still have the Slate Creek ride on the books. Looking like maybe in August. If anyone has a ride that they would like to share. Give us a call or bring your ideas to the meeting.
We would like to Thank Todd, Ed, Dan and Bill for making sure the trail to Camp Howard was cleaned out. The ride itself had 17 machines and 35 riders. Thank you To Ed and Todd for the Donuts to start out the ride. The pictures were great to look at. Thank you!!
Todd was busy last month, checking on the trail and going to a meeting in Boise with the Idaho Recreational Summit. He said there was some Politics going on down there. But the Dept. Of Ag representative was there to talk about trail work and travel plan. The Nezperce and Clearwater forest doesn’t have a travel plan. So, with that, clearing the trails will be up to us. We will be looking at some of the places that have been closed and try and get them cleaned up or opened up.
Next, the discussion was getting some help from the prison to clean or work trails. Lacy Graham was there to explain how it works and get sign up for it. If we can or are able to get them. They can’t run chainsaws but would be good for helping build bridges and clearing brush/rocks.
Before we can move forward with this, Ed, Todd, Bill, Dan G. and Dan J. will be going to the prison and going through training sessions and finding out more information. We already know that those days they are working with us, no guns or alcohol allowed from any of us. They will ride with us. More information at the next meeting.
Speaking of working trails, Brenda will be scheduling a Chainsaw class with First aid class. If you are interested in it, please call Brenda 208-451-0213.
Next meeting is June 3, @ the Trail in Grangeville
