Idaho Pathfinders Association, Newsletter October 7, 2020

Welcome to October and the beautiful colors, Wed. meeting was short with a handful of members.

The meeting was called to order by Todd @ the White Bird Area Recreation District.

We would like to say Thank you to the following business:

Silver Sponsor: Swiftwater RV in White Bird

P.J.  & Mary Lynn Walker of Lewiston

Gold Sponsor: Wild Web West

Platinum Sponsor: Central Idaho Properties in Grangeville

The meeting was adjourned @ 7:15. The next meeting will be October 7th, 7:00pm @ White Bird Area Recreation District in White Bird.

Thank you to Mary Mangold for keeping our web page Domain name current and keeping the web page running. Between her and Rowanda they keep the bills paid for us during the year running cost and web page.

Incoming mail for September, one was the OHV fun annual report. This is an annually published report by the IDL. Idaho Department of Lands. One dollar from every OHV registration is allocated to IDL to provide off highway vehicle opportunities and to repair damage directly related to off highway vehicle use. Transfers in 132,074.00 and Total revenue 132,88.40. They listed  some of the project, payroll, administrative cost and such. These were available at the meeting to take a look at.

The second one was a letter from the Idaho Recreation Council. This letter gave the names of the council that are on hand now. But they are in search of an Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation Executive Director. This person will be working closely with the other directors on up and coming projects. We will be keeping the letter hand for feature names and addresses, When writing letters for projects.

So here is the funny news  today. I brought it up at the meeting. The Forest Service in Idaho will be looking at a new trail system. NO not for ATV or UTV. But for motorized mountain bikes. The trail system they have for peddle mountain bikes are getting torn up by motorized mountain bikes. What are they thinking next

Do to the COVID and everybody busy schedules this year. The rides and such are put on hold. At this time nobody has stepped up to the plate to help put one on. We hope everyone is out using the trail system that we have this year in small groups or family/friends outings. Hopefully 2021 will bring a better year for the club.

Thank you to everyone for hanging in there with us. The next meeting will be in White Bird @ the Recreation District on November 4th @ 6:00pm.

Things to think about for the next meeting: Last year we did December’s meeting for election of officers then skipped January and was back in February. This will be brought up in November’s meeting.

February’s meeting we set the date for the BBQ ride to Pittsburg landing.
